Communities Unite to Build Over 10,000 Beds for Children in Need
What an incredible week! Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), the leading non-profit dedicated to providing beds to children in need, has wrapped up its most successful Bunks Across America (BAA) event ever. From September 6-13, 2025, our 7th annual BAA brought together communities across North America in a fantastic show of compassion and action.
By the Numbers: Breaking Records and Building Hope
The results speak volumes about the power of community:
- 10,075 beds built – surpassing our ambitious goal of 10,000!
- 12,955 volunteers mobilized across the week
- 48,476 volunteer hours served
- 209 SHP chapters participated nationwide
- Over 300,000 children have now received beds since SHP’s founding in 2012
NEW FOR 2025: Our expansion from a single day to a full week of bed-building activities proved to be a game-changer! This format provided more flexibility for chapters to partner with local businesses, created additional scheduling opportunities with volunteers and partners, and encouraged even greater community participation than ever before.
Since our organization’s humble beginnings in our founder’s garage back in 2012, SHP has blossomed into a remarkable organization with over 350 chapters across the U.S. and a presence in four countries.
Thanks to the generous support of national sponsors like Lowe’s Home Improvement and Ashley, and countless local sponsors, SHP continues its work to end child bedlessness.
