What happens when a platform that connects communities meets a movement that builds beds for children who have none? Hope multiplies. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is honored to announce CarePortal as our newest strategic partner in the mission to serve vulnerable children and families. The fundraiser brought together over 300 bowlers and spectators for an afternoon of meaningful impact. Highlights included the presentation of the first-ever “Dream Maker” award to Bill Boltz, Lowe’s EVP of Merchandising, recognizing his exceptional dedication to ensuring every child has a bed to sleep in. Read about this milestone event and see how the lumber services community came together to strike child bedlessness.

Imagine trying to do your homework on the floor after a long day at school, or drifting off to sleep on a couch because there’s no bed to call your own. For thousands of children across the United States, this is reality every night. At Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), we provide safe, comfortable beds so every child can rest, thrive, and wake up ready to face the day.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace’s 7th annual Bunks Across America event mobilized 12,955 volunteers with 209 chapters nationwide Sept. 6-13, building 10,075 beds for children in need in the nonprofit’s largest bed-building effort to date.

Today, we’re celebrating something incredible – our 300,000th bed delivery. But this isn’t just a number. It’s 300,000 children who now have a safe, comfortable place to rest their heads each night. It’s 300,000 smiles, 300,000 better nights of sleep, and 300,000 steps toward a world where no kid sleeps on the floor.

At Sleep in Heavenly Peace, we believe that service takes many forms. Some serve in uniform, protecting our freedoms abroad. Others serve in their communities, ensuring no child goes without basic necessities like a bed to sleep in. On May 3, 2025 in Macon, Georgia, we witnessed both of these forms of service unite in an extraordinary way.
